UCD Food Hall

Kaneco played a key role in the fit-out of the UCD Food Hall at University College Dublin, collaborating closely with the project architects to deliver custom stainless-steel fabrications, high-performance commercial kitchen equipment, and tailored food service solutions for this vibrant, high-volume student hub.

Designed to accommodate the dynamic pace of campus life, the Food Hall features a series of modular kiosks with distinctive geometric forms. Each kiosk was designed for flexibility—allowing for the quick rebranding and adaptation of food concepts, from sushi and burritos to pastries and coffee. Kaneco worked from detailed plans and elevations for each unit, specifying equipment that aligned precisely with each kiosk’s operational needs and culinary offerings.

In addition to the kiosks, Kaneco also delivered the design, supply, and installation of the central production kitchen. Featuring a central service spine and efficient island cooking layout, the kitchen is built to meet the daily demand of thousands of students and staff on the UCD campus. A generously sized dishwash area was also incorporated, allowing for the installation of a high-capacity rack advance dishwasher—ensuring the facility can maintain cleanliness and efficiency at scale.

This project reflects Kaneco’s ability to meet the complex requirements of modern educational dining—balancing efficiency, flexibility, and high-volume performance with bespoke design and long-term durability.
